The United States of America must elect Senator John McCain as the nation's next chief executive. I will say that again, the US needs to elect McCain! Our great nation deserves to elect another President who is completely out of touch with the needs of the average American. The American people have never come to terms with the fact that we undeniably deserve every ill that has befallen us over the past 8 years. From 9/11 to the market crash of the past several weeks, our nation should simply accept these calamities with a moronic grin on our collective faces proclaiming, "thank you sir... may I have another!" This is the bed that we must now lay in. Not only did we get ourselves into this ridiculous position, but we gladly marched into it waving "Old Glory," and denouncing anyone who dared to question the direction this nation was heading.
So whom is really to blame for our current situation? It's not the corrupt politicians, nor the politics as usual "system" we have all recently been hearing about. No, it is the average American; who is too stupid to read the newspaper, or pick up a magazine other than Hustler (example: Sarah Palin - watch). It is all the flag waving imbeciles who never served this country themselves, but were compelled to start a war in order to fulfill some twisted Rambo inspired desire for the proverbial "pay-back!" The ugly American is not just what most other civilized nations think of us, it is the truest characterization of the American mentality. We ignorantly blunder our way through the world bombastically grunting, and wildly swinging a club about; smashing our allies faces just as much as our enemy's. Who can blame the average similarly ill-informed, and ignorant "terrorist" for wanting to do America harm? Our own actions are creating more enemies, than we are eliminating.
Now we have the most important election since WWII, and what are we as concerned American voters focusing on? We say it's the economy, but it's not! We say it's national security, but it isn't that either. I'll just come right out and say it... it is race! I could understand that some Americans are still somewhat racist, and would choose the "white guy" if the choice was somehow even and if the only significant difference was color of the candidates skin. But again, it isn't. Clearly, Senator John McCain is so out of touch with the challenges this country faces, his candidacy would be laughable if the matter wasn't so incredibly serious! Sen. John McCain is no hero... I will say that again, McCain is not an American Hero. The fact that he served his country is indeed admirable. However, I have served my country and am a decorated veteran, but that does not make me a hero either. I know that someone reading this will say, "but he was a prisoner of war." The fact that McCain was a P.O.W in-and-of-itself does not make him a hero, it would have been his actions as a prisoner that would; if in fact he had acted honorably- which he did not. While his prison-mates refused to denounce this country even under heinous torture, McCain repeatedly denounced the Vietnam War effort, and signed several statements criticising our country's involvement in south-east Asia. The fact that John McCain broke-down under the pressure of intense and agonizing torture does not diminish his personal sacrifices or service to our great nation. However, it certainly does not give him the moral authority to question another man's patriotism either!
McCain is as corrupt a politician as they come. He is neither a hero, nor a maverick. His pockets are full of special interests money; let us not forget the Lincoln S & L scandals, and that he was implicated in the "Keating Five" debacle. Even members of his own party question whether his is a crook. http://www.slate.com/id/1004633/
So I pose this question the reader, "why is Obama not blowing McCain away in this election?" The answer is as obvious as the color of candidate's skin. There is no other legitimate argument; if taken line for line, there is no question that Obama's policies are far better developed and realistic than those of John McCain.
There is another important difference that I will only briefly touch upon; mainly for that fact that there is really no room for debate. The candidates choice for VP. I am absolutely convinced that Americans are just plain stupid if they believe that Gov. Palin is up to the job of VP. Not to mention if this buffoon, by some tragedy, became President. The simple fact that she is on the ticket is evidence enough that McCain is completely out of touch with reality! Gosh darn-it, don't even try to say that my opinion is based in some sexist desire not to see a woman as VP. I am sure there are innumerable woman far more capable of performing the job of VP than Gov. Palin; and it seems that even many Republican would now agree.
In conclusion, I will make this statement, if the McCain/Palin ticket gets elected this November, then every catastrophe that will inevitably befall this nation of ours, we deserve. Gosh Darn-it y'all... karma is a bitch!

Joe, it is simply sickening to think that you might be right, that the American public is really as numb from the neck up as they seem. Maybe we are the classic fat, dumb, and happy barnyard animals George Orwell pegged so well. We want a war like a football game, where we can mindlessly cheer our side only because we happen to be from this town, where we can call the other team faggots and cowards because they are from somewhere else, where the end of the war is clearly defined, and you give a medal to the winner.
We want an election like a talent contest on TV, a contest all about images and insults, charisma, and attitude. We use exactly the same format for the election as the dolly-dressing and karaoke idol shows, eagerly tune in weekly elimination bouts to watch the losers sweat and weep. The candidates try to inspire you, to frighten you, to make you laugh or jeer at the opponent, or to seduce you into calling in your vote, and both sides of the game are run and sold by the same people who make the marketing commercials, from rubber shoes to retirement portfolios. Presumably Dick Cheney, Rupert Murdoch, and the other Bilderbergers will still be running everything anyway.
Maybe P.T.Barnum called it: "If The Lord had not meant them to be shorn, he would not have made them sheep." (sigh)
